If you’re planning a virtual reality event, there are a few technical considerations you should keep in mind.
Here are some of the key things you should know !
Space requirements
Depending on the virtual reality experience, you will need a certain amount of physical space to set up the equipment and allow users to move around comfortably. Make sure you have enough room to accommodate the experience you have in mind.
For an interactive virtual reality experience, users move around and physically interact with the virtual environment. This type of experience typically requires more space and can range from 2 x 2 meters up to several square meters, depending on the specific experience.
It’s important to consider the amount of space needed for users to move around safely, as well as the amount of space needed for the virtual reality equipment.
Our recommendation is one headset per 2m x 2m
Lighting
Virtual reality experiences require a certain amount of ambient lighting to function properly. Make sure the lighting in your event space is sufficient and not too bright or too dim and that the space is not in direct sunlight.
Please note that the Virtual Reality Equipment is not suitable for use in direct sunlight. If you are planning to host your event outdoors, please let us know in advance so we can advise on the best setup for the equipment.
We cannot be held responsible if the equipment does not work properly in direct sunlight.
It’s important to keep these technical considerations in mind when planning your virtual reality event to ensure the best experience for your guests.
Power requirements
Virtual reality equipment requires power, so make sure you have access to power outlets. We use stand-alone, all-in-one Oculus Quest virtual reality headsets for our virtual reality experiences.
These headsets come with batteries that are included and can last for approximately four hours of continuous use before needing to be charged. Please note that if you plan to use televisions as part of your virtual reality setup, they will need access to direct power.
We will provide all the power cables for our equipment we only require a power outlet.
Internet connectivity
Some virtual reality experiences require an internet connection, so make sure you have reliable and high-speed internet access at your event space. Wi-Fi gaming routers that use WIFI 6 technology.
These routers can provide a strong and stable internet connection, even for virtual reality experiences. We recommend using our Wi-Fi gaming routers to ensure that your event has the best possible internet connection for your guests.
We can also provide Internet and WIFI at an additional cost.
Health and Safety
Virtual reality experiences can be intense and potentially disorienting, so it’s important to have trained staff on hand to monitor users and ensure their safety.
