The South African Construction Expo and Totally Concrete Expo is one of the biggest Trade shows in South Africa for the building industry. The South African Construction Expo took place on the 11th to the 13th of June 2019 at the Gallagher Convection Centre at 19 Richards Drive, Halfway House, Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mixed Reality South Africa was invited by the organizers of the Trade Show to exhibit at the expo and to showcase the latest in Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality at the show. As part of our exhibition we showcased the HTC VIVE, Oculus Rift and Oculus Go Virtual Reality headsets. We demonstrated our 3D Scanner and how we can use it to create Virtual Tours, 3D Models, Point Clouds and architectural visualizations. Part of our demonstration also showed how our clients can use virtual reality in the Construction Industry.

South African Trade Show Virtual Reality Tour
Below is a complete Virtual Tour of Hall 5 of the South African Construction Expo and Trade Show. We 3D Scanned the Trade Show and created the virtual tour below for people to view the expo in Virtual Reality. You can view the virtual tour of the trade show on your computer, tablet, smartphone or in a Virtual Reality headset like the Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Go, Google Cardboard, HTC VIVE or Oculus Rift.

You can use your mouse to move from one spot to the other and walk through hall 5 of the exhibition and explore it. This is a great marketing tool for Event Marketers and promoters to showcase past trade shows to potential clients. It is also a great marketing tool to promote exhibitors that exhibited at previous trade events. It also clearly show potential visitors why it is worth it to visit the show and meet with the exhibitors in person.
We 3D scanned the Trade Show with our 3D Scanner
We used one of our 3D Scanners (3D Cameras) to scan the Trade Show to create a Virtual Tour of Hall 5 at the African Concrete Expo. You can view the virtual reality tour above or view some photographs of the 3D Scanner in action below.
The 3D Scanner that we use can create Virtual Tours and create point clouds as well. The Virtual Tour can be used to market the event continuously to people who explore it online, and also as a tool to market the exhibition to future exhibitors and visitors.
